Description: Small delicate flowers with five petals and a central cluster of stamens located at the ends of upright stems The flowers are usually single or semi-double.

Color: Shades of red, orange, yellow, and occasionally pink or white.

Botanical facts: Geum is a genus of flowering plants in the Rosaceae family and related to roses and apples.

Design notes: Guen is an excellent filler flower adding texture and filling in gaps between larger focal flowers. Their airy stems and small blooms add a light, whimsical touch.

Purchasing hints: Buy flowers with turgid foliage and a mix of open and closed blossoms. When fresh, Guem can be very long lasting as a cut flower.

Conditioning: Remove all foliage that will be below the water line. Cut stem ends with as sharp knife. Hydrate in water mixed with a commercial floral food for two hours before storage or usage.
