Summer Entertaining

Summertime, just the mention of the word can set me to dreaming of long sunny days, the fragrance of new mown grass, the warmth of sunshine on my face, country fairs, farmer’s markets, strawberries, colorful summer flowers and patio dinner parties. The long days and warm evenings of summer insist that we invite friends, chill wines and fire up the barbeque.

A Springtime Welcome

The joys and festivities of the winter holidays are over and the steady rhythm of winter living has set in. One of my great joys at this time of the year is spending time at home entertaining friends – nothing too fancy; just good food, stimulating conversation and laughter – lots of laughter! From mid-November through December my Christmas wreath hangs on the door as a welcome greeting.

Party time! This season promises to be filled with parties and events every week. I’m not sure how I am going to fit in time for work and housekeeping! Christmas parties must take precedence. Autumn Leaves are Falling

Autumn leaves have begun to turn the fabulous fire colors of autumn. If you are lucky enough to have the trees nearby, you know just what I am talking about. If not, best go for a drive to the woods. You certainly do not want to miss out. Sunday, David and I had the opportunity to head east to Redmond, Oregon. Driving over the pass on Mt. Hood was a visual feast. The sun was shining and the trees were ablaze. Wow! I do love the autumn season.

A Labor Day Picnic

You still have time to plan the perfect end of summer family picnic for the Labor Day weekend.
