We Are Connected - The internet is providing so many incredible tools for the creative soul. Web Sites, Blogs, Facebook, Twitter, Google + and Pinterest... where do you even begin? I have to say, as overwhelming as it seems at times, I love them all. It allows me to connect with Floral Design Institute Graduates and friends across the world. This instant connection is amazing and wonderful in the way it unites and energizes.
I look to Facebook https://www.facebook.com/pages/Floral-Design-Institute/94492648735 and see graduate Jeri www.bellabloomflorals.com post that she is fully booked for a wedding weekend and needs someone to refer her brides to. This is networking at its finest!
Turning to Pinterest, http://pinterest.com/flowerschool/ I set up an FDI Alumni board and posted graduate photos. Wow! Graduate Josef http://www.botanicafloralpdx.com/ has 312 re-pins! That translates to thousands of views of his beautiful bridal bouquet. Student Kate http://pinterest.com/floretcadet/ has an amazing 6676 pins - and I love them!
For a day brightener, I look to Twitter https://twitter.com/FlowerSchool and check out the Colour Lovers postings. https://twitter.com/colourlovers. They always have interesting links and pics of creative color use. And, of course I have to check out what's happening at the American Institute of Floral Designers AIFD https://twitter.com/AIFDHqtrs. It was grand to see the tweet announcing our graduates who are being inducted this year in Miami. Oh, so proud!

Looking back, just 15 years ago I avoided the computer like the plague. Today, I could not live without it. In 2012, the technology allows me to share, dream, create and connect.
