Step 1:  PREPARATION & MECHANICS
Begin by soaking your foam in warm preservative  water and preparing your flowers using standard care and handling procedures.  You can refer to our flower library for full details on this process. Prepare each of the pine cones by wiring with a 9" length of 22 gauge floral wire.

Place your soaked wreath upon the metal platter and set the pillar candles into place.   Then, you are ready to stud the surface with the wired pine cones.

Step 2: CREATING THE FORM
Add the evergreen foliages between each of the pine cones.  Spiral the foliages in a clockwise manner as you work.  The consistent placing will provide a beautiful, organized, flowing rhythm of green.  The use of cedar, pine, and noble gives the wreath luxurious textures and interesting contrast of green shades.  Be sure to bring foliage inside the wreath form, across the top and draping down over the sides of the tray to completely cover the foam mechanics.

Feel free to add trimmings from your yard (or your neighbors) to create even more variety.   Nandina, laurel, euonymous and juniper are some of my favorite garden "findings".
